Concussion Rehabilitation

A concussion is an injury within the brain that causes a temporary disturbance in how your brain functions. Usually a concussion resolves symptomatically within 1-2 weeks, and physiologically within 30 days; however, sometimes symptoms can persist beyond this time. Common concussion symptoms include headache, neck pain, sensitivity to light/noise, visual problems, dizziness, balance issues, nausea, vomiting, memory issues, difficulty concentrating, psychological issues, fatigue, trouble sleeping, etc.

A concussion can occur with or WITHOUT a blow to the head. A concussion is a whiplash injury. If a hit to the body is forceful enough you can sustain a concussion as well.

If you have experienced an injury where you suspect a concussion may have occurred, seek treatment immediately. Education and guidance immediately following injury is critical to reducing the risk of persistent symptoms.

A concussion can affect almost all facets of your life and can often feel very isolating because of the external invisibility of the injury. At FreeForm, know that you are not alone!
